On the Greek island of Zakynthos there is a new naturist hotel which opened in May 2010. Zakynthos was the mythical holiday island of the Greek gods. For many years it has been a favourite with British holiday makers and English is widely spoken. And now, away from the big tourist centers, is a peaceful charming hospitable naturist hotel.

Zakynthos, also known as Zanti, is the third largest of the Ionian Islands, covering an area of 410 kmē (158 square miles) and its coastline is roughly 123 km (76 miles) in length. The island is named after Zakynthos, the son of a legendary Arcadian chief Dardanus. Zakynthos island is full of contrasts: mountains, pine forests and fertile plains, where olive trees thrive, and citrus fruits and grapes are harvested.

Hotel Panorama is a friendly Greek family run hotel with a pool and carefully tended gardens. For the first time in 2010 it will be run as a naturist hotel. It enjoys panoramic views of the countryside and sea in the verdant and peaceful area of Vassilikos, the south eastern peninsula of Zakynthos. It is about 20 Kms from the airport. It is the ideal place for a relaxing and restful vacation.

It is 5 minutes by car and about 20 minutes walk from Gerakas beach. On reaching the beach walk a little to the left and you will find a naturist area towards the end. The beach has gently sloping sand and is very safe for swimming. In the period from May to September, you share the beach with the turtle Caretta caretta, which is the landmark of the island. These turtles come to the beach year after year to breed. If you are lucky you will enjoy the experience of seeing the young turtles making their first entry into the water! Find out more about the turtles here.

The cozy and comfortable rooms have balconies, air conditioning (at an extra charge), refrigerator, bathroom with shower / WC, cosmetic mirror, room safe (at an extra charge), and TV. All have a pool view and a side sea view. Accommodation is offered with half board, but in addition, some apartments are available with a kitchenette. The food is of an excellent standard. The buffet breakfast offers a selection of cold items: cereals, fruit, yoghurt, sliced meat and cheese, fresh bread, spreads, coffee and tea. There is a 3 course evening meal with traditional Greek dishes which will be served at your table. There is a choice of main dishes, which you will be asked to choose at breakfast time. Vegetarian and children's menus are available upon request.

Towels and linen are changed twice weekly. There is a daily housekeeping service. Sun beds and umbrellas by the pool are available free of charge. There is a small library. Just outside the hotel you will find the Delfini Taverna, the Calypso bar, a well-stocked supermarket and a bus stop for occasional buses into Zakynthos town. There are several more good restaurants within a mile of the hotel.

The hotel has a well-tended garden with a swimming pool, a snack bar and a TV area (including deck chairs and parasols). There is a small children's playground. Snorkeling, sailing, diving, water skiing, windsurfing, tennis, paragliding, bike and scooter rentals and fishing are all available in the area.

There are many places to discover on Zakynthos. Some of the places to visit are are:
